Cost of an EHR

Many EHR’s company’s will charge $10,000, $20,000 or even more for purchasing their client/server EHR product.

In my experience, the additional cost of training and implementation is often twice as much as the product purchase cost. Adding these costs with the product purchase cost, and pretty soon you’ve spent $50,000.

On top of that, in order to obtain customer service and product support, most client/server vendors will charge a maintenance fee. Typically this monthly fee is 20% to 30% of the product cost. That’s a lot of money.

And, with the speed that technology is changing, within a few years client/server products (EHR or otherwise) are often outdated.

At Sevocity, we believe that our EHR needs to be used and used now. That’s why (1) we have a low cost set-up fee, (2) we do not charge separately for customer service and product support, (3) do not charge for web-based training, (4) do not charge for standard HL7 interfaces, (5) and we do not charge an additional fee for product updates.
