April 15, 2009 -- Gateway to Care Health Center Collaborative Selects Sevocity EHR (Electronic Health Record)

Sevocity Grows its Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) client base with EHR Sale to Greater Houston’s Largest FQHC System

San Antonio, TX –Sevocity, a division of Conceptual MindWorks, Inc. (CMI), today announced that Gateway to Care, a collaborative comprised of over 165 public and private safety net health systems, coalitions, advocacy groups and social service providers in the Houston, Texas area, has chosen Sevocity EHR as the System’s only funded Electronic Health Record solution.

Under the terms of the agreement, 5 of Gateway to Care’s health centers - encompassing over 200 physicians and users - will implement Sevocity EHR by August. Other Centers are scheduled to implement Sevocity EHR later this year and in early 2010.

“Gateway’s board of directors selected Sevocity based on a recommendation from ten centers working in collaboration through a competitive proposal process.  The centers preferred Sevocity on the basis of several factors including FQHC/Community Health experience and expertise, customer service and ease of use,” said Ron Cookston, Executive Director of Gateway to Care. “One of our larger Centers, The Denver Harbor Clinic, has a residency program and needed to begin using an EHR by January.  Their staff participated in the selection process and escalated their implementation and are now successfully using Sevocity EHR,” concluded Cookston.

Sevocity develops, maintains and supports Electronic Health Record solutions (also called Electronic Medical Record or EMR systems) for physician practices and community health centers across the country . Although not a component of the Gateway to Care Project, Sevocity also offers an integrated practice management (PM) solution or free interfaces with other PM providers for clinics that need a complete EHR and PM solution.

“Sevocity is committed to serving the needs of community health centers and FQHCs,” said Elaine Mendoza, President and CEO of Sevocity and CMI. “We are extremely honored to add Gateway to Care and its member Centers to our growing list of community health center customers. We appreciate the value these organizations bring to their communities and we consider it a privilege to help them deliver health care to our nation’s underserved.”
